At BH architects we are particulary passionate about the historical Cape Dutch buildings. These heritage gems can be found scattered on wine farms throughout the South African Western Cape province. The style features an elaborate parapet wall over the front door known as a gable. The gable usually contains a single window, and has a profile of concave and convex curves, with elaborate plaster moulding decorations. We are undertaking an extensive photo collection of historical Cape Dutch buildings in the area, and have the knowledge to produce authentic designs in the style. House Normandy is a farmhouse that was designed by BH architect in the Cape Dutch style, and has yet to be built on a wine farm in Franschhoek.
